Hello,
I am glad you asked. It takes a lot of courage to ask a Muslim, instead of assuming what we believe in.
In the Qur’an, God says that“I have not created the jinn, the spirits, nor the human beings, for any other purpose except to worship Me.” It is God’s right to be worshipped by everybody. Everybody from the prophets on down because there is one thing that is not negotiable in Islam, and that is God is one God is one and everyone must worship God, the Almighty.  Every prophet said God is one and not to associate God with any partners.
There are many facts that Christians and Muslims agree upon, but where we differ is the interpretation. Christians teach that Jesus is the word. Muslims believe that Jesus is the word of God. There are many evidences in the Qur’an where Allah says, “Be and Jesus was,” and Mary was pregnant. Jesus was born from a virgin, some may interpret it as because he’s God, therefore his birth must be a different way of the regular type of birth. The mother of Jesus, Mary is one of the most pious woman described in the Qur’an. Now, is it surprising that the Qur’an has a whole chapter about her? There’s a miracle in the Qur’an that says when Jesus was born, he spoke to the people from the cradle as a baby.  The people looked at Mary and the people accused Mary of adultery. How can she have a baby without a man?  Mary then pointed at Jesus as a baby and he spoke, and said, “I am the servant of God,” not God, nor the son of God.
There are many instances in the bible where “son of God” is used. To be called son of God is a title of prestige and honor. This title is not exclusive and it has been misinterpreted as him being God, or the son of God and misunderstood him to be God because performed miracles which is mentioned in the Qur’an (that he raised the dead, cured those that were blind, cured the sick, he took a piece of clay and made image of bird, he blew in the clay and the clay became a bird)
One thing in Islam that you cannot argue about is that God is only one. There is no debate and anyone who associates partners with God, Almighty has violated the worst violation anyone can imagine. There is the Creator and the creation. Everything in this universe is a creation of God. Allah is the First and the Last. Everything else is the creation and because of that, God says in the Qur’an that “Every soul shall taste death.” Everything must die, except Allah. Prophets live, and they die. What happened to Muhammad? He died. Abraham died. Moses died. Noah died after living 950 years. What happened to Jesus?
We believe that he’s still alive. We believe that God saved Jesus in a very special way. He ascended Jesus up to  heaven and raised him up to Himself. In the Qur’an, “Jesus is the sign of the Hour.” According to traidition of our prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the Day of Judgment  won’t happen till there are some signs, one of signs is return of Jesus. Muslims believe that Jesus will return to fulfill the Messiah. He will be a just ruler. He’ll come as a just ruler because he’s the messiah and he’ll come about and won’t teach new teachings, the last teachings of the Qur’an and will bring about justice on this earth.
Allah will ask Jesus on the Day of Judgment (the reason why God asks is so He can teach us) “Did you tell the people to worship you?” Jesus wll deny it bc no prophet has ever told their people to worship them. It’s unbefitting for any prophet to say such a thing. It’s unfitting for any prophet to say other than worship the Almighty. We believe Jesus (as well as the rest of the prophets) worshiped the Almighty and taught the people to believe in Him.
In conclusion, we love and respect Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) but we don’t believe he is God or the son of God. We consider him to be one of the greatest of God’s messengers to mankind and he simply came not to change the basic doctine of the belief in one God, brought by earlier prophets, but rather to confirm it.
Hope I answered your question. IF you have anything else you want to ask, my ask is open for you :)
